Its rider was given the power to make people slaughter one another. We can imagine that many christians thought this was happening during the two world wars of the 20th century. Jesus promises a peace that the world cannot give.
When the lamb opened the second seal, a second horse went out. It was fiery red. Its rider was given power to take peace away and make people slaughter one another. How do the media decide which stories to tell and which to ignore? Who tells them what to say?
The lamb opened the first of the seven seals. There was a white horse, and its rider had a bow. This first rider represents the antichrist who ushers in the 7 year tribulation leading up to Jesus' second coming. These revelations are not necessarily on an earthly time scale.

I saw a scroll, it had writing both on the inside and on the outside. It was sealed with seven seals. No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth could open the scroll. It is not a question of strength, it is a question of having the right.
"Instantly, I came under the Spirit's power. I saw a throne in heaven, and someone was sitting on it. The one sitting there looked like jasper and carnelian." So … God doesn't look like a "normal" person, He is shining like a red jewel! At least for this revelation!
"Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this." None of us really knows what will happen to us, even later today, but we all make decisions as though everything will go according to our plans! "Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself."
