I will be with you. The answer to everything comes in these words. Every problem, every stress at work, at home, in the family, every accident, every sickness. Anything the enemy throws at us finds its antidote here. Whatever we suffer from, we would do well to remember these words.

Gideon reacts to being chosen by the Lord by giving all the excuses as to why he cannot do what God is calling him to do. He tells God his situation, as though the God who sees all and knows all, did not have these facts. With God ALL things are possible.

Why has all this happened to us? … But now the Lord has abandoned us. We must learn to speak Biblical truth. Walking in the truth is an important daily activity, and has to be practiced. I am the way, the truth and the life … John 14:6

But if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Many Christians ask this question. Non-believers use it as an argument about a non-loving, or non-existent God. They blame the God they do not believe in, for all the bad things which happen.

The Messenger of the Lord is telling Gideon to move into his destiny, to do what he has been called to do since the beginning. What has God called you to do for Him? Is it time to come out of hiding and move into your destiny?

I am the Lord your God. You must never fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you will live. But you have not obeyed me. How important to you is your job? Your home or car? What about family and friendships? How about your computer or phone?

This is what the Lord God of Israel says: I brought you out of Egypt. I took you away from slavery. I rescued you from the power of the Egyptians and from the power of those who oppressed you. I forced people out of your way. I gave you their land.

The Israelites made hiding places in the mountains, caves, and mountain strongholds to protect themselves … the Israelites became very poor because of Midian and cried out to the Lord for help. Sometimes the Lord has to allow us to become very unhappy, just so that we cry out to Him.
