Children of God – Day 7

Galatians 3:26

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

The Thought

God is not being anti-female in this verse! The whole Bible was written in an era when sons were considered heirs and daughters were not. But it is surprising that the first example of women standing for their rights happened in the time of Moses! In Numbers we read of a father, Zelophehad, who died leaving only daughters, so they went to ask Moses about their situation in the promised land. Would they inherit anything? They were happy with the response that Moses got from The Lord.

So Moses brought their case before the Lord, and the Lord said to him, “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.” Numbers 27:5-7

In Romans 8:19 we read that creation is waiting for the sons of God to be revealed.

Being a “son of God” is a position, and not a gender issue.

Just as all Christians are sons of God, so they are all part of the Bride of Christ. Remember that in Christ there is no male and female (Galatians 3:28).

If you have felt that the Christian life is boring or uninteresting, then meditate on being the favourite son of the Perfect Father. Climb on His knee today, put your head on His chest and listen to His heart beat.

Action

Rejoice today as you meditate on His amazing love for you.

Read Numbers 27 for the full story of Zelophehad’s daughters.

Pray for those Christians you know who need a fresh touch of His love today.

Especially pray for any people you know who have gender issues.

Pray for the Church to become alive with the Perfect Love of the Perfect Father.
