Children of God – Day 6

Psalm 139:13

For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

The Thought

Today we look at another verse which, if you take the verse as your own, can confirm that you are the Lord’s child. You are His plan. God has a place and a purpose for you in His larger plan for mankind. You were not an accident, even if it feels like it, or even if someone has told you so.

God did not just allow us to be born. He created us for Himself.

For in Him all things were created; things in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

You are included in those three words powers or rulers or authorities.

God has given us His authority and called each one of us to rule over the enemy working around us so that we further His kingdom by demonstrating His power on the earth.

Just that very fact should make us realise we are His children, and we are. But we can only really live as His children when we move into all that Jesus accomplished for us in His death and resurrection.

David, the shepherd boy who became king, and who wrote this psalm had an understanding of who God is, which was much deeper than that of most Christians today.

Action

Pray for a new revelation of God’s love for you as His child. Pray for others you care for to understand it for themselves too.

Read the whole of psalm 139, put your name in it, and believe what it says.

Praise God that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Praise Him for His unending love for you.
