Jesus is the answer to any problem we might be facing. But often we must wait for Him to move, just as the Israelites had to wait centuries for Him to appear. And when He did, He was not at all what they had expected. Many of them rejected Him.
This verse begins The Lord replied…. So often we pray, say amen and move on. I ask myself how often I really wait for a reply from God. He could well be responding, but I am no longer listening because my life is full and my thoughts have moved on!
We must never think that it is easy to be a prophet of God. It was not always easy in Biblical times, nor is it easy in the midst of our 21st century world. I guess Habakkuk was hearing complaints from lots of people and passing them on to God.
Oh that the christian church would rise up to that truth and come against that same enemy. Yes, Jesus defeated him at the cross. But Jesus left his disciples to finish the job and get the world to submit to Him and spread his glorious message of love and peace.

The church has failed in its mission to convert the world to Christ, and now we are reaping the consequences. The devil has had too much influence on the church, past and present in making too many christians think that we just have to go to church on Sundays.
As I write this in early April 2022 I have to ask myself if God could be using the Ukraine situation to teach the rest of us a lesson? Only He has the answer. But I am following closely the order from God at the beginning of this verse.
There are many cases going on in the court rooms of the world right now which make many of us wonder if justice will ever prevail. Sometimes we hear of the strangest things being allowed. We hear of innocent people being jailed for saying the wrong things.
