Habakkuk – Day 10

Habakkuk 2:2

Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that whoever reads it may run with it.”

The Thought

The first words of this verse grab my attention. “The Lord replied…”

So often we pray, say “amen” and move on. I am asking myself how often I really wait for a reply from God. He could well be responding, but I am no longer listening because my life is full and my thoughts have moved on!

Whatever God was about to say to Habakkuk was to be important for many more situations, not just at that present time. God wanted it available for us today, because it certainly speaks to our time.

Another modern translation of this verse tells us that God said to the prophet, “Write my answer large and clear so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell others.” (The Living Bible)

Running with the revelation is an interesting idea. We are not just supposed to read and forget what God says, we are supposed to carry it throughout our days, share it with others and not forget it.

Action

Ask yourself today if God has told you anything that you should be sharing with others. If you are one called to “run with His vision”. The Lord intends for us to share what He is doing in our lives. (Mark 5:19)

Pray for an open ear to catch anything and everything that the Lord might be saying to you today, and the boldness to pass it on to others wherever and whenever The Lord wants you to.

Praise God that His word, given so long ago to the Biblical prophets, is still relevant today.

Thank Him that He misses nothing that happens in the earth and gives us the privilege of being a praying part of the solutions needed.
