Who is God – Day 9
Jesus replied to Thomas during a discussion about the immediate future. He told His disciples that He was leaving them in order to prepare a place for them. That is a promise we can take for ourselves too. Jesus has prepared a place for each one of us in Heaven.
John 14:6
I am The Way and The Truth and The Life, no-one comes to The Father, except through Me.
The Thought
Jesus gave this reply to the disciple Thomas during a discussion about the immediate future. He told His disciples that He was leaving them in order to prepare a place for them. That is a promise we can take for ourselves too. Jesus has prepared a place for each one of us in Heaven. That is exciting!
How many people lose their place in Heaven because they fall away from faith, or do something they shouldn’t have done without asking for forgiveness? Forgiveness is always available 24/7 through Jesus our Saviour. Saviour is another name for God that we will look at later this month. The three names we have in our verse today could take three separate days, but there are so many others too; names that describe the personality of The Lord.
Jesus is The Way, the only way to Father God, the creator of the world. Jesus was His plan from the beginning, a Saviour who would be Truth personified, and who would show us what real Life looks like; a sacrificial life, living for others and not for ourselves.
A life where we are constantly aware of Holy Spirit’s presence, and listening for what He might be saying.
Action
Read John 14 today, and be encouraged as you take to heart this part of Jesus message to those who follow Him. The closing verse of the chapter is the word for us, and the message that we must take to others. The world must learn that I love The Father and I do exactly what The Father has commanded me (John 14:31).
As you pray today, ask Jesus to give you a closer walk with the Father so that you can hear His voice as Jesus did, and consequently do exactly what He commands!
