The Weather – Day 4
If you have ever spent time watching the clouds move across the sky, sometimes very slowly, sometimes rapidly, you will know that they do not stay the same shape for very long. This is such a good verse for anyone who feels as though they are having a bad day!
Isaiah 44:22
I have swept away your offences like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
The Thought
This is such a good verse for anyone who feels as though they are having a bad day!
If you have ever spent time watching the clouds move across the sky, sometimes very slowly, sometimes rapidly, you will know that they don’t stay the same shape for very long, they are constantly changing. Imagine the breath of God making different shapes and playing games with those of us who watch from the earth. First a cloud can look like a dinosaur or crocodile, but quickly it can change shape and become a worm or a football or it can quickly disappear. That is the picture God is trying to get across to His people in this verse from the prophet Isaiah. Nothing stays the same for long.
In the previous chapter, Isaiah tells His people, and us, that God completely forgets a confessed sin. I am He who blots out your transgressions, for My Own sake, and remembers your sins no more (Isaiah 43:25)! Hallelujah!
Once they are confessed, our mistakes and our wrong doings are swept away, changed like the clouds and made to disappear. Hallelujah!
Too many people in our world believe that they have made too many mistakes, or done too many wrong things to ever be forgiven by our perfect Heavenly Father. This is a lie that comes straight from Hell.
Action
Allow yourself to look at the clouds today through the eyes of a child with a good imagination.
Read Isaiah 44:21-23 slowly and be grateful. Ask God to show you an image of what He has done with your mistakes. Go through your day today rejoicing in the freedom you have in Jesus.
