Truth – Day 25

Psalms 15:1-2

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on Your holy mountain?

The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart.

The Thought

This short psalm continues along the same theme, as David answers his own question. Which of us can say that our walk is blameless? Very few of us I imagine. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We all need Jesus as Saviour.

David knew The Lord much better than many believers today, and in his psalms we read many questions and answers which are profound, as though the writer walked with Jesus in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). I believe he did, and many other Old Testament prophets did too; their words are revealing.

Action

Here is the whole of Psalm 15 today for us to meditate on throughout the day.

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountains? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbour, and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honours those who fear The Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest, who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

Whoever does these things will never be shaken.

May God help all of us to live in that place of honesty and obedience to His word, as we remember that Jesus was the Only One who succeeded in being that person who could dwell in that sacred place. Praise Him that He opened the door for us to follow.
