Truth – Day 26

James 5:19-20

My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their ways will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

The Thought

What an encouragement this verse is to all of us to keep praying for and witnessing to the non-believers around us!

The problem is that for all of us it is too easy to wander from the truth. We live in a world that seems to be more and more in the hands of the enemy. At least that’s what seems to be happening if we watch the news networks. But a quick glance at Christian news media will tell us that people are turning more and more to the Lord for solutions. Many people are being born again and seeing miracles in their lives. We must be encouraged, not discouraged!

The verse today suggests that all of us can help increase the Christian population by speaking the truth. There are many believers who are walking a fine line between right and wrong, and many others who became Christians a long time ago, and have got into a rut of just church on Sundays or from time to time, with an occasional prayer when there is an urgent need.

We can help these people get to know Jesus so that they can walk and talk to Him as their best friend.

Action

Think today about anyone you know who is not a wholehearted believer. Pray for them to have an encounter with Jesus that will change their lives, and effect the world around them.

Pray for any you know who think that because they are christians, they can do as they like and sins are all forgiven!

Ask Jesus if He wants you to speak to any of those people who have wandered from the faith. Be obedient!
