Truth – Day 17

Hebrews 10:26

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.

The Thought

The writer of Hebrews is suggesting here that once we have understood even a small part of what or who is “The Truth”, and what He represents, then we must change our actions to fit that belief. We must live like believers should. One of the ways to find what that means for us is to read the book of Acts.

After their depression following the crucifixion, then their elation at the resurrection, their disappointment and shock at seeing Jesus taken from them again, and in such an unusual way (Acts1:9), the disciples were each filled with Holy Spirit. They finally understood what Jesus wanted them to do for Him. There was no going back. They went out into the streets. They told people about the power of God and the fact that Jesus was (and still is) The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6).

The disciples’ lives were changed forever. That same change is happening today to people all over the world whose eyes are being opened to the truth of Jesus. These are exciting times to be alive.

Action

Praise God today for the times we are living in. Praise Him for modern technology which is enabling many to discover the truth of Jesus.

Thank God for new churches developing in homes all over the world.

Pray for all churches to grow in the knowledge of the truth. Pray for those where un-biblical things are being taught as truth, to be convicted and change their ways. Remember that we are not to judge these groups. We must love them. If you are guilty of judging, then ask God to forgive you. Pray that He will show you His love for those whose belief is not the same as yours.
