Revelation 1-3 – Day 16

Revelation 2:17

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

The Thought

We must stay with this verse for a second, and maybe third day, because it is so rich. It is a verse for everyone who has ears, that must be more than 99.9% of the population reading this! We all have ears, and the question is: Are we hearing what the Spirit is saying?

Ever since the first Pentecost, Holy Spirit has been speaking to believers and non-believers across the world, but sadly many are not really hearing what He is saying.

All of us could listen more and hear more if we gave God a little more of our time.

The hidden manna is a reference to the miraculous provision when the Israelites were desert wanderers. The Lord said to Moses, I will rain down bread from heaven for you (Exodus 16:4). And he did!

Some of that bread was kept and put in the ark of the covenant as a memorial to God’s provision. His provision lasted all the time they were in the desert, the miraculous production continued until they reached their promised land (Joshua 5:12)!

Read Exodus 16 today and think seriously about the way God provided miraculously for His people. He still is doing that today in different parts of the world.

Thank Him for any specific provision that you have received, not necessarily food, but finance, help, guidance. Praise God that He is a God of surprises and the provider of all that we need.

Make a decision today to listen more to what Holy Spirit might be saying to you.
