Mysteries and Secrets – Day 3

Daniel 2:19

During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.

The Thought

I am sure that quite a few other people praised the God of Heaven too! At least they praised “Daniel’s God” without really knowing who He was, all they understood was that He had saved them from death. If you read yesterday’s post, or if you are familiar with the life of Daniel as told in his book of the Bible, then you will know that Daniel asked his friends who were immigrants as he was to agree in prayer with him.

There is power when believers join together in prayer, whether physically together in a gathering or alone but in agreement. The Lord confirms that for us in Matthew 18:19-20. Ttruly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.

Daniel and his friends had all been young men when they were taken to Babylon after King Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem. They were all good-looking young Jews born into noble families. They had had a good start in life and that certainly helped them in future situations.

They hadn’t known what the future held when they were taken, but God had used their situation for His purposes.

Action

Think of times in your life when you haven’t known what the outcome would be of your particular situation, when life ahead looked like a mystery. Praise God today for the good results of that mystery.

Read Matthew 18 today and ask God to use the words of Jesus to inspire you in whatever your present situation is.
