7 Seals – Day 27

Revelation 7:9-10

After these things I saw a large crowd from every nation, tribe, people, and language. No one was able to count how many people there were. They were standing in front of the throne and the lamb. They were wearing white robes, holding palm branches in their hands, and crying out in a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!”

The Thought

Why do you think that this uncountable multitude is different to the specific number of the tribes of Israel? Are the Israelites to be sealed still on the earth, while this multitude is already in Heaven? Do you think this scene is a one off thing that has already happened? Or is it part of an end time scenario?

Whatever the answers to those questions, take a moment, now, to appreciate the magnificence of this picture.

In chapter 6:10-11 we read about the martyrs who were given white robes to wear. Do you think these are the same people in a different future scene? Or are many of us going to get white robes in acknowledgement of what we have done for the Lord while on the earth? Read verses 13-17 for the answer.

Does your reading of these chapters make you think that the earthly Christian life is not always as easy as some would have you believe?

Are you absolutely convinced that “Salvation” is only attained through believing that Jesus lived and died for you?

Action

Pray that you will spend today (or tomorrow if it is already evening) growing in the knowledge that Jesus is the ONLY Saviour.

Also pray again for those who are suffering for their faith today. Pray that they will be convinced of the white robes they will be given in Heaven.

Pray for truth to be preached in the Christian church worldwide, that Christianity is not always an easy life, but it has great rewards. In John 16:33 we read Jesus’ words of encouragement. “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.”
