Haggai – Day 20

Haggai 2:7-8

I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty.

The Thought

If you have not read yesterday’s message, please go back and do that now because today is a continuation of a part of my personal story!

So I went to the chapel prepared to sit in silence until God spoke to me. I had not been there very long when a friend also from the church, came to do some work in the church-office. She was as surprised as I was to see anyone else that day. (There was no resident pastor at that time!)

I explained tearfully why I was there, so my friend said “well before I go upstairs to the office I will pray for you.” She did, and after a few moments of silence, she said there was a song from Handel’s Messiah that had popped into her head. It was from the prophet Haggai. “something to do with silver and gold” was the only help she could give. She left me reading through the short book of Haggai. I cried even more when I understood that God knew our situation, and had already provided the answer. We must move forward in confidence.

Action

Pray today for any needs you or your family have, and move on in confidence that God has heard your prayer and will answer.

Pray that you will learn quickly any lessons He is trying to teach you. Most of us spend our lives re-learning the fact that God is still The God who sees, and hears, and who has the solution to every problem.

Our personal ones, as well as those in our governments.
