The Weather – Day 25

Revelation 22:5

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

The Thought

This is not really a verse concerning the weather, but it struck me as I read it, that maybe there won’t be any weather in Heaven!! Something I had never thought about before. There will be no dark and light, no rainy days, no snow or ice, or fog! There will be no thunderstorms or lightning. No hail! None of the weather we don’t particularly enjoy. Hallelujah!

In this very last chapter of the Bible we read a description of Heaven. But it is so far from our experiences on earth that it is hard to imagine. What a privilege it was for John to have that angel give him a personal guided tour of where he would spend eternity. What an amazing vision, and what a privilege for us to be able to read it and look forward as believers, to discovering more as we go there at the end of our earthly lives.

In one of the Bibles I read, this chapter is titled “Eden restored”. Most of us cannot imagine Eden, any more than we can imagine Heaven, because we have never experienced the lack of the evil forces that have been destroying the earth ever since Adam’s sin.

Action

Read Revelation 22 today and allow yourself to be excited about all that awaits us in the next life.

As we think about this verse today, let us praise God for the variety of weather he has put on the earth. Different types of weather in different parts of the world.

Different climates that facilitate different sports activities. Think about the sports you enjoy whether as an active sportsman, an amateur or a spectator. Praise God for His infinite creative power.
