Truth – Day 6
If only all of us could hear the voice of God as clearly as Isaiah did, the world would be a different place. Thankfully there are many prophetic voices who are speaking out the word of God today. Sadly many of us, are not listening too well. Read Isaiah 45.
Isaiah 45:19
I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob’s descendants, “Seek me in vain.” I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right.
The Thought
If only all of us could hear the voice of God as clearly as Isaiah did, the world would be a different place. Thankfully there are many prophetic voices who are speaking out God’s word today. Sadly many of us, are not listening too well.
In recent weeks and months, there have been disagreements among christians about such emotive subjects as covid and the vaccines. And in USA, about election fraud. Much time and energy is wasted on disagreements and disputes even among believers. This is sad and should not be. We all need to be hearing the Lord better than we are.
When we watch or listen to the news media we must keep one ear open to God’s voice. We need to ask Him what He is saying in any given situation. He still speaks the truth and declares what is right.
The whole chapter of Isaiah 45 speaks of Cyrus. He was the Persian leader chosen by God to liberate His people from captivity and encourage them to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem.
Interestingly, God told the Israelites via Ezra that Cyrus was not appointed for his own sake. But because he would be the best man for the job (Ezra 1:1-4).
Action
Read Isaiah 45 today and apply some of the more suitable verses to your local political situation as well as your national ones. Are your leaders speaking the truth and doing God’s work, or seeking their own glory?
Pray for local and national leaders in your country, that each one will hear the truth spoken by God, and be obedient.
Give thanks for those leaders who are a blessing, even if you don’t always agree with their political views!
