Truth – Day 30
The Godhead is still waiting for more unity between believers on the earth. But thankfully things are much better than they used to be. Many people are visiting other churches, or watching on line. There is much more tolerance than there was when I was young in the last century!
John 17:17
Sanctify them by The Truth; Your Word is Truth.
The Thought
Early in this study (Day 9), we read of Jesus telling his disciples I am The way, The Truth and The life (John 14:6). Today’s reading is Jesus asking His Father to keep those same disciples safe knowing that He would soon be leaving His followers to do the work on earth without His physical presence. Jesus also knew that Holy Spirit would be replacing Him, and that the disciples would not be feeling alone and lost for too long.
All that Jesus prayed for His disciples on that day, He also prayed for you and me. Just a few verses later we read My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You and I are one – I in them and You in Me, so that they may be brought to complete unity (John 17:20-23).
The Godhead is still waiting for more improvement in unity between believers on the earth, but thankfully things are much better than they used to be. Many people are visiting other churches, or watching other denominations on line. There is much more tolerance than there was when I was a little girl in the last century!
Action
Rejoice today that The Lord is bringing unity amongst His people. Rejoice that you are alive at such a time as this.
Ask yourself today what your attitude is to the other denominations that you know about. How many of their services have you actually experienced? How many of their members have you talked to about what they believe?
Read Jesus prayers for His disciples (John 17:17-19) followed by His prayers for all believers (John 17:20-26).
Pray for yourself for a greater knowledge of The Truth.
