Truth – Day 24

I take verses at random from my concordance. And I pray for inspiration with each one. Maybe God is trying to stress something here. All that we hear in our day cannot be trusted. We all know that in our hearts, and need inspiration about what we pay attention to.

Romans 1:18

The wrath of God is being revealed from Heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

The Thought

We seem to have been running with a theme over the last few days about people not speaking the truth or preaching and teaching the right things. That was not my choice. I take the verses at random out of a list in my concordance. And I pray for inspiration with each one. But maybe God is trying to stress the point here. All that we hear in our day cannot be trusted. We all know that in our hearts, and need God’s inspiration daily about what we pay attention to.

These verses are very clear in that they speak of people who are against the truth; the truth of God’s word, and The Truth in person which is Jesus.

In Numbers 23:19 we read the words of the prophet Balaam where he declares God is not a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Nothing has changed there, God still fulfills His promises, and still speaks only truth. Sometimes we may have to wait a while for His promises to be fulfilled, but we can be sure that He is faithful and will do what He has promised. We must learn patience!

Action

Pray today for those you know who are not telling us the full truth. That includes many politicians, and teachers as well as news reporters.

Pray for The Lord to reveal Himself to them and for them to meet Jesus, The Truth.

Read Romans 1 and note the verses that speak to today’s society, even though they were written two thousand years ago!
