Renewing the Mind – Day 27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. It takes determination in very difficult circumstances to have a thankful mind, but we must remember that God is still God and has ultimate control of everything. Jesus left His disciples His peace, He leaves it for us too.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The Thought

When we know that our minds are being renewed and transformed. We will begin to experience God’s peace in every aspect of our lives.

The verse previous to the one quoted here tells us to be anxious about nothing, but in EVERY situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to present our requests to God.

It takes determination in very difficult circumstances to have a thankful mind. But we must remember that God is still God and has ultimate control of everything.

Jesus left His disciples His peace, He leaves it for us too (John 14:27).

As our minds begin to change to think more like Jesus thinks, we will be challenged and maybe mocked, by those who don’t believe and have different ways of thinking. So we will need to know the peace of God as we stick to our new found opinions and our newly developed determination to see things God’s way. God’s peace does not depend on our earthly circumstances, but on what the Bible says. It is beyond our understanding.

Our verse today promises that the changes being wrought in our minds will be protected. As we begin to think like Jesus, we will have more of His peace because we will see things as He sees them, and we will have more and more confidence that He will answer our prayers.

Action

Praise God for His promise of peace in every situation. Praise Him for His protection of your heart and mind.
