Mysteries and Secrets – Day 30

This chapter does not make for good bedtime reading, and we need to read on in the following few chapters to get the end of the story. Jesus riding out on His white horse sounds like the end of a good fairytale with the prince arriving on his white horse.

Revelation 17:7

Then the angel said to me: “Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns.”

The Thought

The last mention of a “mystery” in our Bibles solves that mystery for us by revealing that this woman is a spiritual being linked very strongly with Satan, who is represented here by a beast with seven heads and ten horns. This chapter which many of us read yesterday does not make for good bedtime reading, and we need to read on in the following chapters to get the end of the story. A good ending, with Jesus riding out on His white horse leading armies of people also riding white horses (Revelation 19:14).

It sounds like the end of a good fairytale with the prince arriving on his white horse to rescue the abused or mistreated princess. We will witness the reality in our world maybe sooner than we think. The beast with his seven heads and ten horns is a horrible image, but lets us know that he is a powerful entity and the enemy of Christ. His influence has covered the earth, but will be shut down by the conquering king. Hallelujah!

Action

Praise God today that this story ends well, at least for those who recognise Jesus as the King riding the white horse as described in Revelation 19:11. Read that chapter today and rejoice that God warned us of all of what is to come.

Pray for all you know who have not yet been convinced that Jesus is the coming king and will be The One who will finally conquer evil on the earth.

Pray too for any you know of who are under the influence of the beast, whether they acknowledge it or not.
