Mysteries and Secrets – Day 24
This verse makes us think that the seventh angel does not get the chance to blow his trumpet because just before he does, all is accomplished. The world as we know comes to an end. There have always been people who speculated that the end of the world was near!
Revelation 10:7
But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as He announced to His servants the prophets.
The Thought
This verse makes us think that the seventh angel does not get the chance to blow his trumpet because just before he does, all is accomplished. The world as we know comes to an end. There have always been people who speculated that the end of the world was near!
A verse in the book of the Old Testament prophet Amos tells us that God does not do very much without informing His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7). Do you know what modern day prophets are saying? There are many voices in the Christian world telling us that the end of the world as we know it is very near. There are other voices in the same world telling us the opposite! Who do we listen to?
St. Paul gave us one truth when he said The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer than when we first believed (Romans 13:11). Paul, and many others living at that time believed that Jesus would be returning to earth soon. All through history people have thought that, and in a way it is true. Time is continually passing and logically, Jesus’ return, must be nearer today than it was yesterday!
Action
Pray today for a better understanding of the second coming of Jesus, as you read Revelation 10.
The best thing for us to do is to “live this day as if our last”. (a line from an old hymn I sang as a child.)
Read Luke 12:35-40 where we read that Jesus will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.
How would you spend your day today if you were convinced that Jesus was coming to take you to Heaven tomorrow?
