A Living Sacrifice – Day 2
These verses make me stop in my tracks and wonder how I dare to be so familiar with this God of the universe. How dare I demand from Him the things I do? But Jesus fulfilled His destiny in order to allow us to have direct access to Father God.
Romans 11:33-36
Oh the depth and the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgements, and His paths beyond tracing out.
Who has known the mind of The Lord, or who has been His counsellor?
Who has ever given to God that God should repay him?
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever and ever AMEN.
The Thought
What precedes the chapter we will begin to study tomorrow is a real psalm of praise to a Living Holy God. We get the impression that Paul was going to end his letter there. The words are an appropriate ending to a chapter, or even the book.
But no, Paul was inspired to follow it with 5 more chapters. Although when he wrote his epistles, there were of course no chapters and verses in the Bible, those were added much later to help those of us who want to study it.
The verses today make me stop in my tracks and wonder how I dare to be so familiar with this God of the universe? How dare I demand from Him the things I do? How dare I even speak to the ruler of the world?
But Jesus fulfilled His destiny in order to allow us to have direct access to Father God. How amazing is that?
As we grow as Christians, we get to know God better, but also we begin to understand His enormity. We realize what an awesome character He is.
Action
Read the verses above slowly, (several times if you can) and take time to appreciate Paul’s appreciation and awe at who God really is.
Realize afresh that we cannot ever put God in a box or think that He is obliged to answer our prayers.
Thank Jesus once more today for opening the way to the Father for you.
