Jude – Day 31

Jude 24-25

To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

The Thought

The completion of yesterday’s sentence reminds us who God is, and what a privilege it is to know Him.

He is the ONLY God that is good. The only God who has existed since before time. And the only God who has all the attributes mentioned in these verses. In appearance He is glorious, and His presence is breath-taking. Many of the Biblical characters fell face to the ground when they got a glimpse of our Heavenly King.

The short letter from Jude has been a reminder of all that God is, who Jesus was, and what this Sovereign being expects from His earthly followers. He never asks us to make a commitment to Him then sit in church each week being blessed. He warns us that we will have to fight to defend our faith (verse 3), and to battle the ways of the world which haven’t changed since Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed (verse 7).

Action

Read the 25 verses of Jude’s letter today. Remind yourself again that this is a message for you (verse 1).

Ask God to reveal Himself to those you know personally or those you see on social media who are living in the ways of Cain, Baalam and Korah (verse 11).

Pray for the “difficult” people in your church group. Those who cause division or are “worldly minded” (verse 19).

Pray for protection for yourself and your family, that each one of you will succeed in being the person Father God has made you to be.
