James – Day 2
It is good to know that God does not get frustrated with us in our own frustrations, but is always ready to help us through. He has the answer to every problem we might ever face. The Greek word here used for finding fault, means reproach or taunting.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
The Thought
All of us find ourselves lacking wisdom from time to time, not knowing what to do in a situation we find difficult, or one that is out of control, or something we have not experienced before. Life is one long learning curve, or so it seems, and we never know enough to cope with every situation.
It is good to know that God does not get frustrated with us in our own frustrations, but is always ready to help us through. He has the answer to every problem we might ever face.
The Greek word here used for finding fault, means reproach or taunting. Isn’t it good to know that God does not make fun of us because of our lack of wisdom? Too many of us don’t ask for anything if we think we will be mocked or thought of as ignorant. God has no such criticism, He only has love in His heart for you and me. Taken in context of yesterday’s verses, I believe this is speaking specifically about wisdom to get through the trials. So often we try to solve problems the world’s way, or with our own ideas, without going first to seek wisdom from the only wise God, who longs to help us through and teach us something new along the way.
Action
Pray today for any problems that you might be facing. Dare to go boldly (not apologetically) before His throne and ask for His wisdom and advice. Take time to listen to the answer.
Praise Him that He has everything you need for every situation. Also, praise Him for the lessons you are learning at the moment.
Praise Him that even the plans of the enemy He can turn for good.
