Doors & Gates – Day 30
The Lord is still appointing leaders worldwide, and He still brings down those who oppose Him, but that will happen more quickly as we pray. In 1 Timothy 2:2, Paul told Timothy to pray for all those in authority, and He is still saying the same thing to us.
Isaiah 45:1-2
This is what the Lord says to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before Him and to strip kings of their armour, to open door before Him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.
The Thought
As we read these verses, we must remember that Cyrus was not a Jew, he was a Persian, but chosen by the Lord from outside “God’s own people” to be their king. What an amazing promise God gave to Cyrus. Why would the Lord do that?
The third verse in this chapter gives us the answer: so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel who summons you by name.
God goes to amazing lengths to have His will done! Through the next verses of this chapter God gives Himself a “letter of recommendation”. Let’s read a few of those verses:
v5: I am The Lord and there is no other, (also in v6) apart from Me there is no God.
v7: I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster.
v12: It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshalled their starry hosts.
The Lord is still appointing leaders worldwide, and He still brings down those who oppose Him, but that will happen more quickly as we pray. In 1 Timothy 2:2, Paul told Timothy to pray for all those in authority, and He is still saying the same thing to us.
Action
Pray today for the world leaders who have such difficult decisions to make, that they would hear The Lord’s leading in all they do.
Read Isaiah 45 and be blessed by all the Lord says.
