Creation – Day 4

God is still separating the light from the darkness in our time. Revivals are beginning in many parts of the world and people are giving up drugs and other addictions as they see the miracles of Jesus happening before their eyes, and as they allow Him into their lives.

Genesis 1:4-5

God saw that the light was good and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day”, and the darkness He called “night”. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

The Thought

God is still separating the light from the darkness in our time. Mainly He is overcoming spiritual darkness with Himself and the light of His Word.

In spite of the terrible things we see on the news media, God’s spirit is still moving over the surface of the earth as it was before the beginning of time. Missionary societies are constantly sending out good news reports from their work in underdeveloped countries and in places where spiritual darkness has ruled for too long.

Revivals are beginning in many parts of the world and people are giving up drugs and other addictions as they see the miracles of Jesus happening before their eyes, and as they allow Him into their lives.

We read in 1John 1:5 “God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.” Once we have given our hearts to Jesus He comes to live in our spirits and from that point on we can grow in the knowledge of Him and His Word. As we do that His light overcomes the darkness that was there before, and each of us can then have an effect on those around us.

Psalm 112 is a great encouragement to read when we are struggling. And verse 4 encourages us with these words “Even in darkness, light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.”

Action

As you go through your day today, think about the difference between light and dark, night and day, and what effect they have on your personal world.
