Children of God – Day 27

Ephesians 3:6

This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

The Thought

The “mystery” that Paul is talking about here is the fact that Jews and Gentiles are all the same in God’s eyes. The previous chapter tells us He Himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14).

Bible believing Christians are sons of God, and heirs of what Jesus gained for us on the cross. But we must never forget that Abraham was the first to receive the wonderful promises that are ours by grace. Genesis 17 tells us of God’s appearing to Abraham when he was ninety nine years old! What an encouragement for all of us to stay faithful!!

In this exciting time of world wide revivals beginning, more and more Jews are finding their Messiah in Jesus. As Christians are gathering, being changed more into the children of God that we should be, many are having to repent of their past attitudes to God’s first nation. So changes are taking place. Reconciliation is becoming a reality.

Most important of all, people on both sides of the equation are being reconciled to the Father God who created all and loves all.

Action

Pray for unity between Jews and Gentiles, between tribes and nations, and between the different parts of the church.

We should pray for “Jews for Jesus” and other organizations which cross man-made barriers for the sake of the gospel.

Pray for those you have met who are racist in any way to repent and to discover a love for all those who they have thought unworthy of God’s love.

Praise God for His plan for mankind. Praise Him for the Bible which makes His will so clear.
