Do you really believe if you do not love another believer you lose your standing as a child of God? There are no conditions here. The love of God for everyone is unconditional, and so should ours be. We are not supposed to love only those who think like us.
From the days of the early church, believers have been called children of God. So this verse seems very strange. Maybe it is because many of us are not living up to that reputation! I long for the day when we will be recognized as children of our Father God.
As I write this study, (February 2023), a new wave of revival has begun in Asbury, Kentucky. Many are pleased that it is simply students who began to seek more of The Lord. There are no big names, no well known worship leaders. Just people longing for more of God.
While we are waiting for more revelation from Heaven, we are called to be like Jesus in our every day lives. No matter how much effort we put into that challenge, we cannot be like Him who was at the same time fully human and fully divine. But one day …!
In this exciting time of world wide revivals beginning, more and more Jews are finding their Messiah in Jesus. As Christians are gathering, being changed more into the children of God that we should be, many are having to repent of their past attitudes to the chosen people of God.
Most of us do not fully understand grace. It means that Jesus has done everything for us. All that He has done to save us comes under the title of the GRACE of God. There is much in the Bible about both Grace and Mercy. We often find them together.
God is still saying to us, His children here on the earth, to let the troubles of today be sufficient for today. Each day does have its own problems, but not one of them is too hard for God to handle, if only we will hand them over to Him.
Of all the communities on the earth, the Christians have the best reason to celebrate. We are the only ones assured of a wonderful future in the courts of our King. We are the only people on earth who can be redeemed from every sin we have ever committed. Hallelujah!
The prodigal son continues with the father exceeding all hopes and expectations of his younger son who had been to the bottom of the pit and returned full of shame and sorrow. The father was excited to be able to celebrate because the lost son had returned to the family.
Many people in church understand being a servant, but not being a son. So many work for the Lord, go to the mission field, clean the church, attend meetings, do good works. All out of their servant heart. But some are trying to impress God, work their way to Heaven.
