7 Seals – Day 26

Revelation 7:2-3

I saw another angel coming from the east with the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been allowed to harm the land and sea, “Don’t harm the land, the sea, or the trees until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

The Thought

This seal is different to the others we have been reading about. It is obviously not one of the seven seals which were on the scroll, of which six are now open. We don’t read about the opening of the seventh until the beginning of the next chapter. A lot must happen before then.

Angels are standing at the four corners of the earth, ready to stop the wind. But they get instructions from another angel to wait.
What do you think about angels? Many books have been written about angelic experiences, and many lives have been changed by the appearance of an angel. One day maybe, we will get an insight into just how much our own personal lives have been protected or affected by unseen angelic activities.

What is interesting here is that the “servants of God” are to be protected from the effects of the stopping of the winds. Would you class yourself in that category?

In the verses which follow there is an equal number sealed and protected from each tribe of Israel. Or so it seems! But a closer look shows us that the tribe of Dan is not mentioned. Instead, Manasseh, one of the sons of Joseph is in the list as well as his father. There is no explanation for this!

Action

Praise God that He knows and controls the future, He is in control of world events today as He has always been.

Praise Him that He loves the Jewish people, and will be revealed to them as Messiah when Jesus returns to earth. (What a day of rejoicing that will be!)

Pray again for those you know who doubt that the future is in God’s hands.

Ask Him to strengthen you for whatever lies ahead.
