Separation – Day 30

The love of Christ does not depend on our feelings, whether we feel loved or not. It is illustrated for us in what He did hundreds of years before we heard of Him! This is one of the most encouraging and enthusiastic chapters in the Bible and worth reading regularly.

Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

The Thought

Paul is asking a serious question here. The love of Christ does not depend on our feelings, whether we feel loved or not. It is illustrated for us in what He did hundreds of years before we heard of Him! This is one of the most encouraging and enthusiastic chapters in the Bible and worth reading regularly.

On Days 27 & 28 in these brief studies, we thought about marriage. In God’s word marriage is meant to be a picture of the love that Christ has for His church. One day all those who believe in Him, will be a part of His Bride.

Too many people cannot relate to that today. For them, the picture of marriage is not a good one because of their life experience, either their own unhappy marriage or from seeing other marriages close to them fall apart.

The Bible is clear that those who believe in Jesus will be a part of His Bride, and it will be a perfect marriage! There will be no more separation from Him, we will be constantly aware of His presence, and we will live in that place of peace, joy and laughter, forever. Hallelujah!

Action

Ask yourself today if you feel anything is separating you from the love of the Lord. Then ask God to break down that barrier of separation and replace it with His love.

Read Romans 8 today, feel Paul’s passion as he wrote, and be encouraged by Jesus’ amazing love for you.

Praise God that while we were still sinners Jesus died for us (Romans 5:8).

Praise Him that all we need was made available to us via the cross.

Pray for those you know who feel unloved, to sense the loving arms of the Saviour.
