Wisdom (Proverbs 8) – Day 22

Proverbs 8:30-31

Then I was constantly at His side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in His presence, rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in mankind.

The Thought

What a happy picture this verse in Proverbs 8 gives us. Like a child being at one with their father, watching, and listening, and being excited to see all that daddy could do. Never ceasing to be amazed at the scope of His creative ability.

Too many families do not have that experience, and we must pray for those broken families, missing a parent, or working too much so the pressures in life leave them with no time to have fun with their children.

The word constantly in the original Hebrew comes from a word meaning “as one brought up with Him”! As God has always existed, we can suppose that Wisdom has too and is a part of His being, and here we see that Wisdom is telling us in this verse, that Creation was an exciting time with new delights day after day!

The last few words in these verses make we wonder if The Lord still delights in mankind. So much of the world population has gone astray and fallen under the influence of the devil to lesser or greater degrees. Even in the church worldwide! That is a tragedy! We need Wisdom to flood the earth with what is good!

Action

Pray today for the families in your area who are not living in full relationship one with another.

Pray for the fatherless children, and the motherless ones too. Family was God’s idea and anything less needs our prayers.

Some of us reading this today will be called to work with orphans and broken families, pray for any you suspect may have that calling, and if you are young enough and free enough, ask God if He wants you to take on work involved with split families or orphan children.
