Who is God – Day 30

Revelation 19:16

On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Thought

For this last day of the month looking at the names of God, it would seem appropriate to look at the all inclusive description at the end of the Bible. This chapter gives us a wonderful picture of the victorious Christ riding out to victory.

Jesus is introduced in this passage as the one who is Faithful and True. And we could easily spend a few more days looking at those names for Jesus. But the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS sounds a good and complete name to finish our study with.

For many people across the world, the words “king” or “lord” do not conjure up happy thoughts. Too many have lived under evil regimes or served wicked masters. Only Jesus can change those images, and heal those hurts which are passed down through many generations. In Paul’s letters to Timothy, he uses the title King of kings, and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15).

In Psalm 24 many centuries before John had his revelation which closes our Bibles, David encouraged his readers to seek the God of Jacob. He ends this short psalm with: Be lifted up you ancient doors that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle…. The Lord Almighty, He is the King of Glory (Psalm 24:7-10).

Action

Whatever your needs might be today, go to the highest authority on the planet to ask for help.

Pray for the heavy doors of churches (real and spiritual) in your area to be opened so that the King of Glory can enter!

Praise God today for who He is, and that He has the solution for whatever you might have to face today or in the future. He is ALWAYS there. And He reigns. Hallelujah!
