The Soul and the Spirit – Day 30

Romans 8:15-16

You received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father”. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

The Thought

If you are a child of God, then you know it. You will be constantly aware of that relationship, and your quick reaction to all difficult situations will be to pray.

When He taught the disciples the Lord’s prayer Jesus encouraged all of us to use abba which is a young child’s familiar term for daddy (Matthew 6:9). In yesterday’s post, we looked at Romans 8:15 which also encourages us to talk to Father God in the most familiar terms.

Sadly many of those who did not have a good relationship with their earthly fathers may find it difficult to be so familiar with Father God. Many need to receive healing prayer in order to break those blockages. If that is you, then seek someone today who can help you.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17), and God wants you set free from all hurts of your past in order to have a natural loving relationship with Him.

Action

Pray for those in your church community who are not yet set free to have a loving father/child relationship with God. Whether you know their names or not, God will identify who you are praying for.

Praise Father God that you are His child, and dare to ask Him to give you a confirmation of that fact today.

Praise Him for all He has taught you, or reminded you of, through this 30 days, and praise Him in advance for all the good things He still has to teach you in the future.

Read Romans 8 again, it is such an important chapter.
