The Last – Day 5

2 Peter 3:3

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

The Thought

Here we have another verse which makes us think that we are experiencing the last days right now, because it seems that all over the world people are scoffing and following their own evil desires!

Those who do things that God abhors do not realise that what they are doing is evil. The main problem is that too many people do not know Jesus and His Father God who love all people and long for each one to seek truth and live it.

It seems, (at least to me), that much of the world is in the hands of the devil who is rejoicing at every aborted baby, every broken marriage, everyone in a homosexual relationship and every person having a sex change! Satan is happy with every underhand thing that is happening, and if it breaks the commandments that Jesus gave us to love one another, then the devil really rejoices.

Peter begins this chapter of his short letter by saying that his reason for writing it is to stimulate you to wholesome thinking (2 Peter 3:1). Don’t we all want to encourage each other to think rightly, we all want the generations following us to be Bible believing people, following God’s instructions and plans for our lives, plans for good and not for evil, plans to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Action

Read 2 Peter 3 today and pray for the area you live in for each person to recognise that Jesus is real and loves them wanting each one to be in Heaven with Him. Ask The Lord if there is anyone specific that you should make an effort to befriend.

Pray for the churches in your area to teach the truth, without being concerned about politically correctness.
