The Last – Day 4

Isaiah 2:2

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.

The Thought

Centuries before Jude, (see yesterday), Isaiah spoke of the last days, meaning the end of the world as we know it. This prophecy from the Old Testament is much more positive than Jude. Isaiah was telling us of the good things that will happen before the end of our world.

This is a very encouraging verse, telling us that all nations will be going to worship The Lord. That is an unimaginable concept for most of us, and as I write this study in early October 2024, war is raging in the east, making many fear that it will become the third world war.

But the first 5 verses of this chapter of Isaiah give us a sense of world revival, when all nations will be seeking God, and being taught by Him the correct way to live. It seems to us today to be a “dream world” that will never happen, but God has spoken and we must pray for His will to be accomplished on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Action

Read Isaiah 2:1-5 today and be encouraged about what is to come for believers. Let those verses encourage you to share the gospel with someone today.

Pray for The Lord’s solution to the war over Israel, as you meditate on verse 4 telling us that God will judge between the nations, and will settle disputes for many peoples.

Pray for any people you know of who have disputes within their families, or their neighbourhood. Pray for the peace that only Jesus can bring.
