The Spiritual Blessings – Day 2

God chose you through Jesus before even Adam and Eve existed. He knew that mankind, made in His image, would not live up to His hopes and expectations, because there was a fallen angel in the story. God wants ALL to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Ephesians 1:4

Before the creation of the world, he chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in his presence.

The Thought

Does it shock you to think that God chose you before even Adam and Eve existed? We are so inclined in this 21st century to focus on today. To think that we are in control of our own lives. The amazing thing is that God knew all that. He knew that mankind, made in the image of Him (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) (Soul, Body and Spirit) would not live up to His hopes and expectations, because there was a fallen angel in the story.

The wonderful thing is that God still decided to go ahead with His plans. He even made preparations for the antidote to the fall of man. Jesus agreed to give up His place in Heaven to come to earth as Redeemer of mankind. Thousands of years before it happened.

God also knew about all those babies that satan steals through abortion, as well as those who die because of accidents or health problems in the mother. Those babies are all in Heaven and could well be reunited with their parents one day.

Note that the verse for today tells us that we are chosen “through Him”. That is Jesus. This verse leads to a discussion on predestination and whether only a few are destined for Heaven. But we read in 1 Timothy 2:4 that God wants ALL to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth. Hallelujah, no-one is excluded!

Action

Praise the Lord today for His plan for mankind, and thank Him for your part in it. Ask Him to help you be faithful to your calling as a Christian.

Dare to ask Him to help you fulfill more of who He has called you to be.

Thank Him for the glorious future He has for you.
