The Spiritual Blessings – Day 10

Ephesians 1:13

You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that he has saved you. In him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised.

The Thought

Once we are believers in Jesus, His virgin birth, His death on the cross and resurrection on the third day, then we become a part of His world wide family. And according to this verse we are marked by the Holy Spirit. What a blessing that is.

It is not a seal that the world can see. It is something unseen by the human eye, but seen by the spiritual eye. If you look into the eyes of a real Christian, there is a sparkle there that is not there in the majority of nonbelievers. The Holy Spirit of Jesus shines through our eyes, but also reveals Himself in our language, and our actions.

It is a seal that ensures our entry into Heaven at the end of our lives. That seal will grow and glow brighter as we grow in our knowledge of the Lord and our closeness to Him.

The following verse, v14 continues with the promise… This Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive our inheritance. We have this guarantee until we are set free to belong to him. God receives praise and glory for this.

That is a statement that gives us confidence for today. No matter what you or I do today, no matter where we go, no matter who we see, the Holy Spirit is our companion. If we have no-one to talk to, we can talk to Him. If we are unsure about what to do, we can ask His direction and advice.

Action

Pray today that you become more aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence in your everyday life. Talk to Him, and thank Him for being there, ask Him to help you throughout the day.

Be ready to share your faith with others.
