Renewing the Mind – Day 9

Romans 12:2

… but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

The Thought

One more day on this verse which is so rich.

Because I learned that the changes God wanted me to go through could be likened to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar I began to study the butterfly. Consequently, what I discovered helped a lot in my personal on-going spiritual transformation.

The caterpillar doesn’t resemble the butterfly in any way. There is a Bible verse which suggests the same for us. 1 John 3:2 … and what we will be has not yet been made known. So God’s plan is that we change beyond recognition.

The first verse in 1 John 3 tells us that because we are so loved by Father God we will be called “children of God”. That means that as we recognize His love for us and allow ourselves to be changed, we will begin to think like Him, and be recognized by others as His children. That’s exciting!

Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar completely dissolves into a liquid. The butterfly is a totally new construction out of that liquid. Isn’t that amazing?

1 Corinthians 15:52 We will all be changedThis verse and the one just mentioned (1 John 3:2) both refer to the end of time. But the change begins here and now, as long as we allow it to.

Action

Pray today for the changes God wants to bring into your life. Pray for the willingness to allow a “meltdown” and reconstruction of whatever needs to be transformed.

Read the beginning verses of 1 John 3 and see the suggestions of change that we can expect when the Lord returns to earth to seek His Bride.

Praise God for His plan for the last day when “all will be changed”. Praise Him that we are getting nearer to that day.
