Renewing the Mind – Day 6

John 14:12

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

The Thought

The way we show others that we have faith in Jesus, is by doing what He did. I am guilty of not fulfilling His command. I have not gone into the world and preached the gospel, healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead (Mark 16). There have been times when I have not loved unconditionally, either the Lord, or my neighbour (Mark 12:30-31)! Oh yes I’ve done most of these things a little bit! But often I conform too much to the ways of the world. I become a man-pleaser instead of a God-pleaser. I know that I need to be more transformed. I need to continue being transformed. It is not a once in a lifetime process. Yes we can be dramatically changed the moment we accept Jesus as Saviour, but that is only the beginning of a long journey of change.

What are the “Greater things” that Jesus talks about in the verse quoted above? Can you imagine “greater things” than He did. I have heard many say, that we can do greater things because we can go into the whole world and tell hundreds of people about Him. We have technology today that allows us to go to the whole world without moving from our armchairs. Are we using it as we should?

There is an enemy of Christians who is definitely using it to fulfill his purposes in making people afraid, making them conform to his world.

Action

Praise God for the transformation He is bringing forward in you.

Thank Jesus for helping you to fulfill His commands, and do the greater things that He has prepared for you to do.
