Renewing the Mind – Day 21

Ephesians 1:17

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

The Thought

Paul kept on praying this prayer for the churches he had planted. It is a good prayer to pray for ourselves and others. Paul knew that adoption as God’s Sons, that we touched on yesterday, can only be understood through the Holy Spirit. It is He who gives us the conviction that we are children of God (Romans 8). As we reflect on that fact, our minds will be renewed and we will learn to know Him better.

Learning to know God better should be the aim of every Christian. It should become a part of every message preached in every Church across the world. The more God’s children get to know our Heavenly Father the more we will know we can trust Him. The braver we will be in His name. He will be able to use us more to bring others into His world wide family.

Action

Praise God for the repetition in the Bible that convinces us of the Truth. Praise Him for His Spirit of wisdom and revelation, helping you to know Him better.

Pray this whole prayer, (Ephesians 1:16-19) for yourself and your church family.

Ephesians 1:16-19

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. Also I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.
