Psalm 23 – Day 14

This is the answer to every problem we ever face. God never promises that we will not have troubles, but He does promise to walk through those troubles with us. After Jesus ascended into Heaven the Holy Spirit came to the disciples on Pentecost weekend. And He has NEVER left.

Psalm 23:4

… for You are with me.

The Thought

That phrase is the answer to every problem we ever face. God never promises that we won’t have troubles, but He does promise to walk through those troubles with us.

He knows that we live in a fallen world, but He has given us the way to overcome anything and everything the devil might throw at us.

For some of us loneliness is a reality, for others it is a great fear, but Jesus is telling us today to not feel either lonely or afraid because He is present. He is in it with us.

Whatever is on your agenda for today, remember that Jesus is with you. Holy Spirit enjoys your company, and wants to be your companion throughout today. Give Him permission to do that, and be blessed by His presence.

David never forgot the closeness of the Lord in the loneliness of the fields when he had only sheep to talk to. He remembered the dangers, the challenges, and the victories. I’m sure He remembered them too when he was struggling with being king. That was not an easy world to be in, but his confidence in God never wavered.

Our world today is not always an easy one either, and we must remember Jesus’ words to His followers when He appeared to them after His resurrection. “I am with you always, to the very end of the age”. (Matthew 28:20)

Of course we know that Jesus didn’t literally stay with them too much longer, but after He had ascended into Heaven the Holy Spirit came to the people gathered in the upper room on Pentecost weekend. And He has NEVER left.
