Mysteries and Secrets – Day 10

Ephesians 3:2-4

Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is the mystery made known to me by revelation, … In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ …

The Thought

Paul went on to explain to his readers that the mystery of Christ is that because of what Jesus did on the cross, the way to Heaven is open, not just to the Jewish nation, but to all believers in Jesus. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 3:6).

At the time of Paul’s writing this, the non-jews in many parts of the world were looked down on, and in their own eyes they had no sure way of getting to Heaven! Many of them consequently were bowing down to idols, hoping for spiritual satisfaction.

Praise God that He is revealing Himself to both Jews and Non-Jews in our day. If we follow any form of Christian news, we will know that we are living in exciting times, if we follow only secular news, either national or international, we could get depressed about the state of the world.

Paul’s whole purpose in life was to explain the mystery of Christ to everyone he met. Ask yourself today what is your purpose in life, maybe it is something you have decided on, maybe it is God-given, or maybe you don’t feel that life has much purpose for you at the moment.

Read today Jesus’ message to his followers in Mark 16:14-16 knowing that we are not all called to travel abroad, or live in another country, but that we are all called to pray for and witness to our friends, neighbours, colleagues. Try to do that today.
