Joy – Day 31
Many of us have felt financial stress while we read of another world where people are investing thousands on what might seem to us to be unimportant things. It is sometimes hard to believe that God is still in control. BUT HE IS! We must remember that, and praise Him.
Jude 24-25
To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy — to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
The Thought
This is such a good verse to finish the month of December, and indeed to finish the year. 2022 has been for many a year full of stresses, strains and mixed emotions. We have seen covid come and go once more and try to make a come back. We have seen political disputes with success and with disappointments. Many have spent the year full of fear as a result, eagerly hoping that the world will change.
Many of us have felt financial stress while we read of another world where people are investing thousands on what might seem to us to be unimportant things. It is sometimes hard to believe that God is still in control. BUT HE IS! We must remember that, and praise Him for who He is.
Jude ends his short one chapter letter with this encouraging verse, reassuring us that Jesus is the only one in whom we should trust. He is the only one who is able to purify us, and present us faultless because He took our sins on Himself! What a sacrifice!
Jude commits his readers to The One Eternal God, recognising that it will be with joy that Jesus presents each one of His faithful followers to His Father.
Action
Use these closing words of Jude today for those you care for, praying that they will be kept safe and will draw closer to Jesus, the only one who can save us and prepare us for Heaven.
Praise God for all you have experienced with Him this year.
Thank Him for the lessons learned and make a decision to follow Him with JOY.
