Creation – Day 31

In the book of Revelation we have the last reference to creation. The angel holding the small scroll which John was to eat, came with a rainbow above his head which was a reminder of the first creation being destroyed and God resetting things with the family of Noah.

Revelation 10:6

And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay!”

The Thought

In the exciting last book of the Bible we have the last reference to the week of creation. The angel appeared this time holding the small scroll which John was to eat. He came with a rainbow above his head which was a reminder of the first creation being destroyed and God’s reset with the family of Noah. He was about to announce another reset! The accomplishment of the mystery of God! (v7)

The angel’s face shone like the sun and his legs were fiery pillars! What a terrifying sight that must have been. And when he shouted the “thunders spoke” (Revelation 10:3). What a terrifying sound that must have been!

This mighty angel raised one hand to Heaven and swore as though he was speaking before a judge in a court of law. He was certainly aware that the All-seeing God was watching him. The Heavenly judge was certainly listening as this powerful angel declared that God is eternal, the One who created earth and everything in it.

Action

Read the short chapter of Revelation 6 and be amazed once more at all that John saw in his island prison. Praise God for everything He revealed to John.

Praise God for the Bible and all who took part in writing it, translating it and preserving it right up to our day.
