Creation – Day 29

At the beginning of Revelation 4 John is invited to go up to Heaven and see what is prepared for the future! He describes some amazing scenes before the chapter ends with the verse for today. But that was only the beginning of the things John saw on his Heavenly visit.

Revelation 4:11

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

The Thought

The very last book of the New Testament continues the creation theme. This theme, as we have seen, goes all through the Bible from beginning to end.

The expression “all things” in this verse includes all humans too! The Greek word used for “all” is elsewhere translated “everybody”, “whole” and “complete”. The word is trying to tell us that absolutely EVERYTHING was created by God.

In the beginning of his gospel, the apostle John tries hard to get across to us the fact that God was there at the beginning. And that He will be there at the end. He is responsible for making the world! John tells us “Through Him all things were made; without Him, nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:3)

Action

Ask yourself today if you would like to have supernatural experiences like John. Do they scare you, excite you, or do you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground?

Long before His heavenly revelations, John wrote his gospel which opens with the conviction that there is only one Almighty God. He is a God of love.

Read John 1 today and feel John’s emotions. He tells us that the God of Heaven, creator of the world wants us as His children (John 1:11-13). Claim that right today.
