In spite of all he went through, Job still could not deny the hand of God on his life. He acknowledged that God is the author of life, holding the world in his hands. Job knew, without the slightest doubt, He was still alive because God was watching over him.
We were all born physically when we entered this fallen but beautiful world. The water of the womb, keeping each baby safe in the body of the mother, is often the first sign that the baby has outgrown the womb. That is referred to here as being born of water.
Maybe there are not too many believers among the people we spend time with, but they all know that you are a believer, so that is OK. And it can be! As long as you do not get entangled in any demonic behaviour they may be involved in!
The mind, will and emotions are all parts of the soul, and must be kept under the control of the spirit. If the spirit of a person is submitted to Holy Spirit, then good decisions will be made according to the word of God. If not, then anything might happen.
Once we are adults we choose the way we live our lives. It is our own personal decision. Whether we make good or bad choices depends on what has affected us before that time; a happy or difficult childhood, faithful friends or not, a Christian education or no religious instruction.
Paul insists, in this chapter of Romans, on the different life we can have when we break our ties to the world, and live in line with the Holy Spirit. We need to understand the law of sin and death which has been in operation since the time of Adam!
The spirit is the part that makes us alive, and is born from God. But many of us do not do anything to encourage our spirit to grow. The spirit, as well as the soul, can easily be influenced by the world, where we live, and our spare time activities
Those people are ready to bring peace to every difficult situation. Most Christians know their Bibles well enough to tell others what God thinks in whatever situation they are asked about. The majority of spirit filled believers have a glow coming from their spirit which is obvious to others.
As a part of the heavenly Kingdom we are privileged to work for the King of Kings here on the earth. As we work for the Lord, and with Him, He causes our souls to change and He manifests himself more in our daily lives consequently affecting those around us.
Jesus prayed His way through to obedience in His Spirit, and gave His close friends one last word of advice before He was arrested. He knew their spirits wanted to follow Him, but He also knew that they would be tempted to hide and deny they were even His friends.
