The Last – Day 16

Isaiah 48:12

Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am He; I am the first and I am the last.

The Thought

Four chapters after yesterday’s verse from this same Old Testament prophet, Isaiah is still declaring God’s claim to be the creator and finisher of all things. Isaiah is letting us know that God never changes His mind. He is eternal, and knows of course that He is the beginning and end of all things. The important thing is for His people on earth to know that too.

It is hard for us to imagine God, an eternal spiritual being, and even harder to know His plan, and the fact that before the world began He existed and had the blue print for everything that would happen on this little planet in its position in the universe.

Remember that NOTHING that satan does to try to stop the accomplishment of God’s plans will succeed. Hallelujah! Each one of us who are a part of the church on earth can have a part in those plans if we so choose. That means staying close to Jesus. As I write that I remember that Peter, one of Jesus’s inner circle of faithful disciples did not like something Jesus was saying and reacted strongly saying “Never Lord, this shall never happen to You” (Matthew 16:22)! How wrong he was!

Action

Read Isaiah 48 today and pray for God’s plan for your own personal life to succeed, pray that you will know how to co-operate with Him and not hinder the success of what He is doing. That is hard for many of us!

Pray for The Lord’s plans in Israel to accomplish their purpose quickly. For those watching from all across the world to see His majesty and understand that the God of Israel is supreme.
