Haggai – Day 12
It is good to be reminded that Holy Spirit is with us wherever we are, whatever we are doing. He knows our every thought, good, bad and in between! He is longing to help us through every difficulty, and show us the right direction in whatever we are facing today.
Haggai 1:13
Then Haggai, The Lord’s messenger, gave this message of The Lord to the people: I am with you, declares the Lord.
The Thought
I had moved on from this verse and was meditating on the next one, the first in the next chapter. But the Lord spoke clearly to me and said “Isn’t the fact that I am with you always, worth more than a mention on just one day?” So here we are, returning to yesterday’s verse.
It is good to be reminded that Holy Spirit is with us wherever we are, whatever we are doing. He knows our every thought, good, bad and in between! He is longing to help us through every difficulty, answer every question, and show us the right direction in whatever we are facing today.
If we are listening to Him, even with only one ear, then we will hear that still small voice (1 Kings 19:12) or a gentle whisper as it is referred to in some translations. For many of us though, the difficulty is identifying God’s voice amongst the many voices we hear each day.
Action
Pray today that you will hear God’s voice more clearly.
Read 1 Kings 19. Take note of the fact that Elijah did not leave His cave to watch the earthquake, the wind or the fire, but when the gentle whisper came, the prophet recognised the voice of God and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave (1 Kings 19:13). Pray that you will have more discernment to recognise God’s voice, or at least His activity in all situations, whether in the form of earthquake, wind or fire.
Rejoice that The Lord is with you whether you can see Him or not. Try to live through this day more aware of His presence than you usually feel. Remember that He is there whether you feel Him or not.
