Remembering – Day 31

Luke 24:8

Then they remembered His words.

The Thought

Today (March 31st 2024) is Easter day, What a good day to finish a study on remembering, as all over the world believers, and some non-believers are being reminded of things Jesus said and did.

This weekend of Easter is always a reminder of what Jesus has done for us, and this verse goes well today as we remember some of the words Jesus said.

The verse is speaking of the women who had been faithful to Jesus during His earthly life, and were part of the group who were shocked and worried when He was put in the grave. On going to the grave as soon as their sabbath was over, they found an empty tomb. Two angels then met them and told them the good news of the resurrection, reminding them of what Jesus had said about Himself: The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again (Luke 24:7).

Today’s verse could be a challenge for all of us. How many of Christ’s words do we remember?

We must be prepared at all times to share our faith, remembering much of what Jesus Himself told His followers to do.

Action

Pray today for the Christian church across the world which will be celebrating the resurrection today. In some places it will be a serious occasion, in others it will be like a party. Praise God for all the different styles of church where He is praised and worshiped. Some of them will be small family groups, others will be mega-churches with thousands attending.

Pray for families where some are believers and some not, and pray that Jesus will be glorified by all our words today.

Happy Easter to ALL
